ABOUT STRATEGIZE FOR SUCCESS (SfS):

SfS is NOT about the specific tactics that you’ll employ (tactics should come *after* the strategy is defined, otherwise you’ll be throwing money away) – rather we’re going to look at the fundamental and crucial elements that set the foundation for *all* of your marketing and business endeavors.

You will leave the program with:

We strip back to the basic foundations of what your business is about – the essence of why you’re working in this space. Then we’ll get you clear on where you want to go – and how we’re going to get there.

Session 1: Strategic Planning & Marketing Foundations 

In your first session we:
  • Go through the Marketing 101 Fundamentals and the foundational elements absolutely critical to our success
  • Conduct a Strategic Review and ‘baseline assessment’ for your business
  • Conduct Situational Analysis of where your business is (Get clear on what’s working, what’s not; who your competitors are and what they are offering to the market; and key environmental factors that may impact your business direction)
  • Outline your top level SMART business goals
  • Create a clear definition of success and begin to plan out how to get there.

Session 2: Your Why – and Why They Care

In your second session we:
  • Dive deep into understanding your USP (unique selling proposition)
  • Discuss the key elements of a USP and where they overlap to make up your own unique customer value proposition
  • Clarify your ‘Why’ – the purpose behind what you’re doing and the vision and mission for your business – and why this is critical to successful marketing
  • Look at the customer and their needs / motivations and address their ‘after’ state
  • Understand the Customer Funnel & create you Ideal Clients Avatars
  • Understand the importance of segmenting and aligning our customer’s needs to the services we offer
  • Craft a positioning statement that clarifies what our business enables our customer to solve

Session 3: Creating a Strong Brand

In your third session we gain clarity around the key elements that make up a strong brand. We uncover how your values play out in your brand and how this impacts your overall marketing strategy.

You’ll get clear on each building block that creates your brand equity, including:
  • How to create a solid Branding Strategy
  • Understanding what Brand Loyalty is & how to create it
  • Uncover the core elements that make up your brand and how to keep them at the forefront to connect with the ‘right’ customers for your business

Session 4: Getting the Word Out & Marketing Promotion

Now that you've reviewed where you've been and where you want to go, now it’s time to detail how you’re going to get there!

In this final session you'll workshop how you’re going to hit your goals, what tactics you’re going to utilize and how you’re going to implement (i.e., the actual tactics that feel good for your business).

You’ll also plan out the intention behind your tactics and the projected outcomes so that you can measure your ROI (return on investment) to make smart decisions into the future.

Specifically, we cover:
  • The ins and outs of marketing promotion
  • How to be authentic and effective in your marketing
  • Setting your budget
  • Strategic priorities
  • Aligning your marketing tactics to your strategic priorities
  • Tactics projections
  • Planning out your calendar

A bit about me:

I've built & grown a few small businesses over the years; and been a marketing strategist and consultant to many others over the past two decades. These experiences have taught me a bit about what to do (and what not to do) and the challenges of being a cash-strapped, time-poor small business owner.

I've had some successes, and I've also made my fair share of mistakes and I share these learnings to help you avoid the pitfalls.

Having built over 20 websites in my time and a few personal businesses along the way, I've learned a thing or two about what to do (and what not to do). 

My goal is to help pass along this knowledge to help you be more strategic, avoid some of the pitfalls and help you be more impactful doing this important work.

My approach is an honest, authentic approach to marketing & business and my focus is helping you to make consistent, measurable changes to help you find more success, aligned to what is important to you. 
My background: 
A lifelong learner,  I studied psychology and art in undergrad; followed by grad schooling in art direction and a Masters of Business Marketing in 2008; plus over 1000 hours yoga teacher and yoga therapy training. 

I have worked as a marketing strategist & consultant across a range of industries and as an entrepreneur, yoga professional & mom/mum of two energetic young boys, I know about juggling work and life while trying to make an impact.

I developed Yoga for Better Health (previously YogaMate) because yoga personally transformed my health and wellbeing. Before yoga, I was working as a marketing consultant within the wine industry (another industry that has public understanding challenges!). I enrolled in my first 500 hours of training, wanting to understand how yoga had shifted the depression I'd struggled with for half of my life.  I had no intentions to teach (let alone shift my career trajectory); but after my first year's training, I felt the knowledge gained was too profound not to share. 

I launched YogaMate (now Yoga for Better Health) in 2016, a marketing and professional development platform for yoga therapist & specialists. I've since gone on to develop two apps, founding the Global Yoga Therapy Day and now developing yoga therapy well-being programs.

My focus is on championing therapeutic yoga; building awareness that if you can breathe, you can practice yoga and helping make these tools accessible to all.

I've presented on marketing strategy for Yoga Professionals at international conferences, including three years at the IAYT’s Symposium of Yoga Therapy and Research (SYTAR), the Accessible Yoga Conference, the Yoga Australia Conference and the Global Yoga Therapy Day. I have also been featured in international media and radio; and a guest presenter on podcasts in Australia and the US. I'm presently serving on the faculty at Guru Ram Das Centre and a guest lecturer on marketing strategy with the MUIH Yoga Therapy program.

Before Yoga for Better Health, I worked as a marketing consultant and strategist in a diverse range of SMEs across Australia and the United States.

I'm passionate about empowering yoga therapists and specialists to make smart, strategic decisions in how to effectively build their business and share this important knowledge.
